My Taid (grandad) was diagnosed with bladder cancer towards the end of 2024 and, very sadly, passed away on 18th July 2025. It was a huge shock for our family to learn that his cancer had spread, especially after he had gone through such a difficult time with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. We were told (and we truly hoped) that these treatments would cure him.
In his memory, I’ve decided to run my very first half marathon in Naples on 22nd February 2026 and raise money for Action Bladder Cancer UK. My Taid always encouraged me in everything I did (career, hobbies etc) and so this feels like a meaningful way to honour him and make him proud ❤️
I’ve only ever run 10km before (with struggle), so taking on this challenge feels especially fitting. I’m doing it in the spirit of Taid, carrying his strength and support with me as I train.
Any contribution (big or small) is hugely appreciated. Your support will help this cause and make a difference to other families facing the same difficult journey❤️
