Hello, as some people are aware my cousin Leah was in a terrible accident on Saturday 4th of October. Leah and her partner was out walking at Henryhd Water Falls in Neath with family dogs when she suddenly fell off the edge of the mountain whilst trying to help one of the dogs back onto the footpath. Leah fell over 100 feet into a revine upon landing despite her injuries Leah managed to drag herself onto a surface within the River, Leah held tight until her partner who managed to jump and climb his way down to her found her face first within the water. Anthony got Leah to safety and placed her into the recovery position before having to leave her to find a phone signal so he could ring 999. When the emergency services found Leah and Anthony there was a huge rescue operation that had to be thought out and executed correctly. With time not on Leahs side she become very unwell and Hyperthermic but despite the troubles they encounted the mountain rescue teams, emergency services and uniformed officers managed to get Leah to safety. After a long 5 hours Leah was airlifted to the University hospital of Wales where she is currently an inpatient. How Leah has survived a fall from such height remains a miracle!! Tuesday the 7th of October Leah had to have Major Surgery which took upto 8 hours to fix multiple fractures within her Hip, Pelvis and Ankle. She is currently very unwell recieving multiple blood transfusions and is on very high doses of pain medications. unfortunately Leah is without a job as she was about to start a new job the Monday following her accident, Leah has two children aged 15 and 8 and As you can imagine this has turned theirs and Leahs life upside down. Leah is going to need intense rehabilitation for months and It is going to be a long time before Leah will be able to walk again. She is going to need adaptions made to her home as she will not be able to go upstairs, a change of car from mannual to automatic (for when she can actually drive again ) her sons birthday is 2 weeks away and Christmas just around the corner not forgetting every other bill that comes with life and unfortunately with no job she is going to really struggle. Anyone that knows Leah personaly will know that she will do anything to help anyone whos in need. I thought I would make a go fund me to see if anyone would be kind enough to help Leah in her recovery and help take some pressure off her and our family. I appreciate that the cost of living is very high at the moment but any little help would be a massive help to us.
