Renee Justin (55) wife of Dale Justin, mom to 5 children, Leo (15), Jack (13), Fletcher (35), Donald (33), and Jamie (26), grandsons Theo (3), Aiden (2.5), and Cole Jahn (20).

On May 2nd, Renee suffered a 2nd stroke in 3.5 years; however, this time it was far worse, 2 brain bleeds affecting her function to speak, respond, as well as move any limbs on her right side. At this point, a full recovery is not likely. She is currently at Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis in the Neurologic ICU department. She has made improvements each day but she still does not respond to commands all the time. The doctors and care team state her healing, rehabilitation and recovery will be months, possibly years. They don't know if she will walk or talk again at this point. Renee worked in homecare helping elderly daily with their day to day needs, she is a Catholic at St Mathias in Brainerd serving her parish and community as much as possible. She is an amazing artist, beautiful singer, loves gardening, her family, and has absolutely loved being a grandma! Dale has insurance; however, because of the extensive needs she will go through, it will not cover everything. They are displaced right from each other as he needs to work in Brainerd (at Brainerd Hardwoods-who provides millwork for Bell Bank) to support the 2 boys still in high school at home as well as cover Renee medically. Her two older boys Fletcher is currently an active duty military member and Donald served in the Navy for a short amount of time, and her step-daughter Jamie works in a loan department. Renee may never return to the family the way she left them. We hope she will but that is not in the cards right now.
