Why Team Tigger?

Let me tell you about King… he’s a bouncy, trouncey, ouncey, pouncey, giant ball of fun, fun, fun, fun, fun! He literally bounces around like Tigger, leaping in the air when he’s excited. He’s a sweetie and the life of the party. King has an injury at the base of his tail that prevents it from curling over his back like other Akitas, so when he’s happy it waves around in the air like a giant question mark. []

In August 2020, I was deeply grieving the unexpected loss of my best boy Zeus (a rescue) when I received a message from the wonderful lady that brought him to me. She told me there were 4 Akita puppies picked up as strays in West Virginia. King and his siblings were taken in by B.E.A.R. and a few weeks later I drove to JoAnn’s place to pick him up. I am so glad I went there as I was very humbled by what I saw. JoAnn was gracious and happily showed me around, introducing me to all the dogs. Rescue is hard! And the care of so many dogs is an insane amount of work. JoAnn loves these dogs unconditionally 24/7. I am immensely grateful, King has healed my heart and brings me constant joy
