Help Chrissy with expenses

My name is Suzanne Hemond. I've known Chrissy Morgan Michalec since we were in elementary school. On Halloween 2021, she lost the love of her life, Todd to cancer. Todd had been battling various cancers on and off for many years. Each time we thought he was down, he'd rebound, and kick cancer to the curb. This last bout was just too much and he was too tired to fight. This loss was devasting to Chrissy on many levels, the two primary being emotional and financial. By raising money for her, the hope is to alleviate some of the emotional strain by relieving some of the financial burden.

Chrissy is having health issues of her own and hasn't worked for a while, in part because she was Todd's primary caregiver. She is in need of knee surgery and is awaiting a date for the operation. In the meantime she has her cats and herself to feed plus the expenses of daily living.

Grief is already overwhelming under the best of circumstances. When we add in the uncertainty of finances without an income and pending surgery with losing your best friend and life partner at a fairly young age, 'overwhelming' doesn't begin to cover the range of emotions Chrissy is feeling. It's like you're drowning in a riptide of a sea of sentimental memories and crushing obligations.

Like many people, it's hard for her to ask for help. Today a post she made on her Facebook page prompted people to begin asking if any fundraisers for her were out there. Chrissy said that to the best of her knowledge there weren't any. So I told her I'd start one. While she didn't explicitly say yes, she also didn't say no and in circumstances like this it's better to ask forgiveness than permission. So my hope is that she will curse my name at the same time she's buying necessities for her cats and herself and that she'll forgive me eventually.
