Most of you have known me as the big strong professional hockey player who has always been a bit on the wild side. I in the past few years have had so much that has changed. I reconnected with truly the love of my life, received my CDL license, and overall become a more calmer individual. Hey could you see me organically gardening lol. I have been helping my wife go through some of the worst medical situations for the past few years and I have been trying to help her get well. About a month Em and I went to Caumsette to walk the beach and so I could fish I had flip flops on and I stepped on a rusty nail that went through my shoe and into my foot. Thinking that I had my tetanus shot within the time needed I didn't think anything about it. That's where I went wrong. A week later I was fighting what I thought was a summer flu. Em and I went down to PA to see about getting jobs because we were planning to move there. Within 24 hours I had 104 fever and my wife was calling for an ambulance. Turns out I have a blood infection called endocarditis I also have sepsis and staph infection affecting my heart and as I just found out my back and neck as well. There are absceses in my thoracic lumbar and cervical spine. Unfortunately because of Emily's autoimmune disease she has to go back and forth from New York to Pennsylvania to see me and her Doctors. Right now because of her illnesses she cannot work and obviously as I'm stuck in the hospital for over three weeks can't not either. They say I may be here another 6 to 8 weeks. Please if you can help us out even just a little it makes a difference. I will update you all on how I am as my fight continues.
