It's never easy to ask for help, but today, I'm reaching out with a heavy heart on behalf of someone very dear to us all. Joanna, a beloved school teacher and a devoted mom of two, is facing one of the toughest battles of her life – breast cancer.

Joanna has been bravely managing the diagnosis of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC), a type of breast cancer. She completed her radiation treatments in December 2023, but the cancer persists. Currently, she's awaiting further testing, including a crucial PET scan scheduled for the end of March 2024.

Imagine juggling a classroom of energetic fourth and fifth graders all day while also tending to her 11-year-old son's needs at home. Despite her exhaustion, Joanna has been a pillar of strength, but the financial burden of her treatments is overwhelming.

Unfortunately, Joanna's medical coverage doesn't cover all the additional treatments she desperately needs. We're now faced with the daunting prospect of seeking further treatment at the Hope 4 Cancer treatment center in Mexico, at a staggering cost of $38,000.

Currently, Joanna is undergoing hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy, red light therapy, and brain tap sessions, alongside a regimen of medications to support her through this fight. But as she awaits further instructions from her medical team, the expenses are mounting.

Compounding this already difficult situation, Joanna's eldest daughter Genesis is in her first year of college in Southern California, and the family hasn't been able to continue supporting her tuition expenses.
