In 1943, 44 and 45, the Lord Byng Grey Ghosts track and field team won three Inter-City High School Championships in a row! This was followed by a dry spell with no championships of any kind for another 60 years. In 2010, Lord Byng finally won the Vancouver City Championships ,and since then there's been no looking back. The Grey Ghosts have now won 9 years in a row! In 2019  they will be going for number 10! We have also had significant success from our cross country program, which has accomplished multiple individual and team honours.

During both Cross-Country and Track seasons, our athletes have qualified for the Provincial Championships, with competitions held in places such as  Kelowna, Nanaimo, and Prince George . Not only have we had athletes qualify to these meets, but we've had individual and team champions at the city and provincial levels. To commemorate the possibility of winning our 10th City Championships in a row, and support future generations of athletes we have created this Go Fund Me page with the goal to raise $10, 000 for (hopefully) 10 years of championships!

Every year we try and give our athletes equal opportunity to perform to their fullest and compete in track and cross country meets such as the  City and Provincial Championships. We've had success at these levels of competition, however in order to nurture the amazing talent of our athletes, as well as introduce them to higher level competition, we would like to raise money that could be used towards  travel and competition in meets such as Battle of The Border and the prestigious Oregon Relays. The money raised will go towards travel costs, registration fees, equipment, uniforms, scholarships etc. for Lord Byng Track and Field and Cross Country, to help keep the program alive and thriving for years to come.
 
Many of you have fond memories of your involvement in high-school athletics. These experiences are not only paramount for developing youth in sport, but also for building well rounded individuals in our community. We feel that all Grey Ghosts have played a role in creating the successful track and field/cross-country program that it is today. Funding has always been a limiting factor, so please help the Grey Ghost spirit live on and become a Grey Ghost Booster! Every little bit counts and will help us to reach our goal!
