Steve's battle against lymphoma started in the Fall of 2015. The lymph node in his groin was swollen. His doctor said not to worry, it was just an infection. In January 2016, with symptoms of extremely swollen legs and lymph nodes he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins small B cell follicular lymphoma. Again his doctor said not to worry. Chemotherapy would put it into remission. People live with lymphoma for years. But, just six months later, the cancer returned. Not giving up, Steve fought hard enduring several rounds of chemotherapy. After 5 rounds of chemo his lymphoma has been resistant to chemo and has not responded to it, only progressed. Steve is now at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas participating in a clinical trial that will hopefully save his life and others to follow. MD Anderson has been a source of hope and strength in his battle against cancer. It has also become Steve and Nancy's home for the next month as he fights for his life. Being away from home is draining both emotionally and financially. The cost of traveling there 3 times already and every 3 months for future appointments will take a toll on Steve and his family. Join us in supporting The John family to bring Steve home after he beats this cancer for good! Let's help Steve continue with his fighting spirit as he wins this battle and hopefully the war.
There is so little we can do to help our friend Steve with his battle. This is just a small way that we can help. Life is so fragile, thank you for any donations large or small !
