This is our Dad Ernesto, but to his 7 grandchildren he is known as Papa Neto. He is their funny, dancing, cooking and loving grandpa. He celebrates all their victories and supports their curiosities just as he did for us when we were children. Our parents have been married for 40 years which is a big deal nowadays, but my parents haven't just survived, they have thrived together. They have such a strong marriage that has outlasted civil wars, moving to a foreign country, raising 4 children and all that life has thrown at them. You will never see one without the other and if you have ever had the chance to see them dance together you would really understand their bond and harmony.
Many people know our dad from his ministry or his work in the alternative care field. Ironically after many years of service and caring for others needs, he is now in need of help himself and that is why we are reaching out to our community for support.
This January he had major surgery to remove a large portion of his colon where they had found a large tumor. A few months later, we have now received the devastating news that the cancer has spread. The doctors explained that it would be an aggressive treatment and he would be very ill, with his life potentially lasting as little as 9 months.
Our Papa Neto being a person that doesn't give up, has opted to seek all other options and has found a promising alternative. With your help we could collect enough funds for this treatments that will cost $10,000 plus travel expenses, which will not be covered by insurance. These funds will dramatically help keep them afloat while he undergoes treatment and their business is closed.
We want our children to have their Papa Neto around for many more years. As a family we are united in supporting them in every way possible. No donation is too small.
