Luis was murdered and his immediate family members and close friends are raising enough money for Luis' parents to be able to pay for a proper burial in Mexico. Luis was pronounced dead on Monday December 28, 2015. Luis died at the young age of 24 and is survived by his 4 children, Luis Antonio Meza Diaz, Itzel Jarely Meza Diaz, Kaylee Michelle Meza Ruiz (Colorado Springs, CO, USA) and Eddy Alexis Meza Sanchez (Jalisco, MX) his father Fidencio Meza, mother Teresa Pelayo, sister Laura Meza-Pelayo, and brothers Ulises Meza-Pelayo, Fidencio Jr Meza-Pelayo, Alexander Meza-Pelayo and Gerardo Meza-Pelayo.
