Help Ashley Abraham
Unfortunately over the last few weeks, Ashley had not been feeling herself, and had been feeling weaker and weaker. Ashley called me on her way to work Monday August 9th, she said she really felt something was wrong, I said call the doctor. Later that day, I got a call she was at Lutheran General, she had a brain bleed. The bleed left her with the exact same effect of having a stroke. At the time, we thought the damage was minimal and she was given steroids and told she could return to work possibly, after some rest at home. That following Thursday Ashley’s sister and I took her to breakfast and could tell something was very wrong…we text her doctor and he said to bring her to the hospital ER ASAP. Ashley had another bleed, causing even more damage and weakness on her right side.
At this point Ashley can not use a fork...she now walks with a cane, and her vision is affected, so she is not driving. Because Ashley and Edward's home has only one bathroom, we will need to install a walk in shower for her as well. She will not be able to work, but we are hopeful that she will return to her career that she worked so hard to achieve. We are excited about physical therapy, even though just going to breakfast with mom is exhausting.
Ashley has a very strong faith and is ready for this next challenge, she also has friends and family that love her dearly. Her husband Edward has been by her side every minute of the way, his love and devotion is truly amazing. Ashley is no stranger to medical battles, she has had several brain surgeries, survived a stroke, ovarian cancer, and was recently diagnosed with epilepsy. Without all of your love and support, Ashley could not survive or get through any of this.
We of course also ask for as many prayers as possible, may God bless you all!
Thank you for all you love and support....we will keep you updated as thing progress.
