Wheelchair accessible van
Donation protected
My name is Joseph Giusti and I live in Elmhurst, Illinois. I suffered a vaccine injury back in 1997 when I was a student at Visitation Catholic Grade School here in Elmhurst. I was a perfectly healthy 13 years old, but after receiving a Meningitis Vaccine, my body shut down, I nearly died and I was on a ventilator at Loyola University Medical Center for months as I was stricken with Guillain-Barre a rare side effect of this vaccine. With great community support from our church, school district, and ECAF, I graduated Visitation and York High School and I’ve been working on getting my Accounting Degree. I live with my single mother and we need a wheelchair accessible van. Today I am 6’2” and my mother can’t transfer me into a car anymore. I’ve been in the house since January, without leaving our home and it’s not easy. Now that’s it’s summer, I’d like to go places. Otherwise, I’ll be in the house all year. I’m finishing my college studies and would like to have transportation for work so I can support myself and experience the world as most able bodied know. Please donate as much as you can and thank you very much for your support.
