Triathlon for a Cause!

The mission of my non-profit, iGive Global, centers around helping women, children, and refugees around the world to be invested in so that they are able to rise up to their full potential.

There are many great lives struggling because of a lack of someone seeing them and investing in them to help them rise above. My goal with iGive Global is to be a nimble non-profit that seeks, finds, and delivers a hand-up to those with great potential but needing someone to help them realize it.

So this fall I'm wanting to raise funds for 3 orphanages I have connection to that serve children that need a hand-up. 2 of the orphanages are in Ecuador and 1 is in Belize.

In Ecuador, our involvement is concentrated on two Quito-based orphanages – San Vicente de Paul and Santa Lucia. While the former, managed by Catholic nuns, is a sanctuary for approximately 60 children, the latter serves as a home to over 30 children. Our contributions are coordinated through our partner, Orphanage Support Services (OSSO).

We are also contributing to Hope Haven Belize, in Ambergris Caye, Belize. This is a children’s home and community center focused on poor, neglected, and at-risk children. They provide food, shelter, counseling, and educational development activities. Mike was able to visit this location earlier this year and learn more first-hand about their work and efforts.

I'm trying to bring together my love of fitness challenges and these needs as a way to raise funds. I'm signed up to complete my longest triathlon to-date, a Ironman 70.3, in North Carolina on October 21, 2023.

With a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile bike, and a 13.1 mile run totalling 70.3 miles, it's my longest endurance race and it will be a physical challenge but I'm doing it to try and raise $3070.30 to split among the 3 orphanages.

This goal of giving to the orphanages is propelling me forward in my training and through injuries to focus on crossing the finish line and being able to deliver this investment in the lives of children to these 3 orphanages.

I'm inviting you to consider giving and joining me towards this $3070.30 goal. I'll be focusing on getting my body and mind ready to complete the 70.3 and with your support we'll reach the fundraising goal as well.
