My sister Sharon has fought cancer 3 separate times & won! She has endured surgeries, radiation therapy & chemotherapy. Her journey has been more difficult than most people could endure. She is a loving mother, wife, sister, daughter & friend.
Sharon was forced to quit her job after her 2nd diagnosis, was out of work for almost 2 years & during that time, she had two kids in college. Her family was forced to use all of their savings, 401K & retirement money as well as use credit cards for daily living. Unfortunately, these cancers have left her & her family with exorbitant financial debt.
Sharon has only found temporary work after her 3rd diagnosis & does not get vacation time, sick pay or holiday pay. She had over 30 surgical procedures including a bilateral mastectomy, with approx. 15 of them in just over 2 years. For each surgery's recovery she was unpaid. She worried about returning to work quickly instead of recovering. Sharon now deals with a long list of side effects from her treatments, including tachycardia, neuropathy, vertigo & migraines to name just a few. Her doctor has suggested she go on disability, but it was denied the 1st time around. Trying again would entail paying for an attorney which she cannot afford. She currently has not been working for 5 weeks for medical reasons.
Her family has 2 vehicles that are over 10 years old with over 100K miles on each & one of them doesn't run at all. They had their hot water tank, freezer & whole house air conditioner all go out around the same time without money for repairs.
Despite everything my sister is going through, she continues to put others first by sewing pillows for other breast cancer patients, mentors others diagnosed with cancer, raises money for needy through Tri-County V-Twin Cruisers MC, and is a team leader yearly for her local American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.
I am asking you to help my sister Sharon in any way you can, so that she can concentrate on getting back to her old self physically and mentally without having all these financial concerns. I can't imagine having that kind of debt from cancers.
Please help Sharon get back to a normal life without the stress these cancers have caused her and her family. Thank you so much in advance for your help!
