Hi my name is Xochitl, im writing this in behalf of my family. On Monday, March 23, 2022 at approximately 7:35am My sister Sadie was traveling northbound on 101 with her three sons ages 11, 8 and 2. She was taking her children to school when a semi-truck driving Southbound on 101 made an illegal u-turn on Hartnell Road. Although she tried to avoid hitting the semi it was impossible. She clipped the back of the semi causing her small Honda sedan to travel under the truck.
Sadie suffered Injuries to her right forearm, right heal and ankle. She was transported to Natividad Medical Center where she underwent surgery for her injuries. The 11 year old was trapped in the front passenger seat and was airlifted to Santa Clara Valley Regional Center, the 8 year old sitting behind the driver seat had facial injuries and was airlifted to Santa Clara Valley Regional Center. The 2 year old sitting in his car seat in the center rear seat suffered bruises from the impact and facial injuries. He was airlifted to Santa Clara Valley Regional Center.
Although all are recovering from their injuries and they have been released from the hospital, Sadie is the only provider for her children and will be unable to work while in recovery. Her right side of her body suffered injuries which doctors have said will take over a year for her to be able to begin to walk again and will be wheelchair bound for over a year. We are asking for assistance to pay for medical bills and in-home medical care.
We appreciate the outpour of community support and well wishes and know that time heals all wounds. Please hug your loved ones, tell them you love them and give thanks for every day of life, for life is a gift and it’s a shear miracle all four are here today.
