On the evening of July 19, 2021, while out of state training for a new job, Eric suffered a massive heart attack in his hotel room and tragically passed away. By Tuesday, his wife Rebecca was growing concerned that she had not heard from him and was reaching out to hotels and hospitals in North Carolina where he was staying. Eric leaves behind his wife Rebecca, four children, and one living grandchild. His passing comes at a difficult time for many reasons. This family has been hit with the recent passing of Rebecca's close and beloved mother, as well as the loss of a cherished granddaughter who passed at birth (both traumas in themselves). Health problems have also plagued both Rebecca and several of the children for years. To make matters worse, since Eric had just started his new job, his new benefits had not kicked in yet and his life insurance from his previous employment expired a mere FOUR DAYS before his passing. This has left the family with not only a significant cut in income but also with a burden of unexpected out of state transport and funeral costs. At a time of hopeful new beginnings when things should finally be looking up, this family is suffering yet another devastating loss.
Despite the family's many struggles, Rebecca's heart remains open to give of herself and love on others no matter what she is going through. As a hardworking and devoted daycare worker, her daycare children are not only her job--they are family. A child can undoubtedly be found in her home on most evenings as she is "helping babysit" for the families she has grown to love. When so much seems to be going wrong, there is no better way to give back to Rebecca than to show your love and support through a financial donation to get her family back on their feet. Even a small amount adds up and can make a difference. The greatest difference--HOPE.
