2020 vs Family of Four

Our names are Brandon, Adriana, Millie & Marley! The pandemic hit our income hard with Adriana and I both working as servers/bartenders at our local restaurant. With state/federal social restrictions and fearful customers simply being more stingy with their spending (and rightfully so), the last 6 or 7 months have not been easy. On August 10th I had an unfortunate accident, falling and hyperextending my left knee the wrong way while playing basketball. In the fall I tore my MCL, partially tore my ACL, and I also have a partial tear in my patella tendon. The hospital was able to provide some temporary insurance to cover the X-rays, MRI's, and just long enough to cover the surgery. Rehabilitation/recovery costs will left to us, and more debt will follow in the weeks and months that I'm unable to work. We felt it time to turn to GoFundMe, admittedly a little desperate, when that eviction notice appeared on the door. Now the apartment complex that we live in, is not respectable. There is no shortage of incidents where the staff has been unreliable, incompetent, or just flat out rude, to me and other tenants. Google their reviews; they are not good.. *refer to photos for name of complex* The complex has shown zero interest in trying to help their tenants, either. Refusing to take any partial payments or waive any late fees. Our initial lease ended in April during the national shutdown, so we opted to begin month-to-month payments. Again, the complex had the option to waive the $100 increase on our rent, but chose not to. Then, in the midst of talks about repayment and possibly receiving assistance from the state, the complex stopped replying to my emails. 3 days later an eviction notice was taped to my doorknob. Now we lean on the generosity of those kind enough to help. I've read many GoFundMe stories, and in fairness, there are much more worthy causes to contribute to! But if you read this big, long story and can afford to lend a hand, we can't thank you enough! Any donation, big or small, will go a long way to helping us climb out of this hole! Thank you for taking the time to read our story and spreading the word! Whether you decide you are able to donate or not, we truly appreciate all the support! We pray that everyone stays safe, and God Bless!
