I need your help to defray medical expenses because I am having trouble breathing and don’t know why. Unfortunately, I am uninsured at this time. Last year I became self-employed and decided to go ahead and create a business. As a very small business owner, it’s been tough to add insurance to myself during these difficult times. My website helps people with a rare disease called lymphedema, and I spend a majority of my time helping others.
Saturday July 4, 2020 I woke up feeling out of sorts. I felt like my heart was racing, and I spent the day trying to figure out what was wrong. Normally I try to “ride things out” but something told me to go to Walgreens and get a pulse oximeter. This was based on my experience in caring for my Dad when he had cancer. I wanted to know if my heart racing was in my head or was it really high. It was a bit elevated but I decided to just monitor.
Sunday July 5, 2020 my heart was 125 bpm when I woke up. It was pounding out of my chest, and I had shortness of breath. I went to the ER and they ruled out a pulmonary embolism but did tell me I had diminished lung capacity. I was given fluids and sent home to follow up with my primary doctor.
Over the last couple of days, I have been monitoring and have had these spikes with both my heart rate going high and my oxygen going low. My oxygen has dipped as low as 67 but comes back up. I feel like I am on a roller coaster between being okay at around 95% and then dipping down. No clinics in this area will take new patients, but I did manage to get an appointment with a former doctor at self pay. This is where you can help me.
I’m not sure if I need an oxygen tank, an inhaler, or what, but I’d like some help with the self pay for the appointment, any medications, and to get enrolled in an insurance program going forward.
Thank you for any help you can provide. God Bless.
