Support For Jude

Jude is 4 years old, almost 5. He's a bit of a medical mystery and a miracle! He was born with a rare intestinal disease (less than 100 documented cases) and spent the first 6 months of his life in the hospital. We arrived home with many machines and cables and somehow he thrived, all talk of muti-organ transplants went away and by 2.5 years he was cable free. We could dare to hope that he would have a normal life.

Everything was great until October last year when he started to get recurring pneumonia. We've since been admitted to hospital 4 times and his team are working hard to get to the bottom of what's going on. We are very lucky to have an incredible support network in our adoptive home of Barcelona who are always sending us nourishing food when we're in the hospital (Thank you). People are always generously offering to help and finally, I've realised how they can.

Over the last months, I've been compiling a list of alternative treatments, holistic practices and supplements that I'd like to try to help Jude get stronger. I'd also like to invest in therapy and somatic practices to help him process the trauma he's experienced. These of course all add up, and as you can imagine, with spending so much time in the hospital and at home recovering, I've had to cancel a lot of work. Finances are tight.

Anything that you can donate to promote his well-being will be much appreciated.

UPDATE: APRIL 3rd

We have been advised that doctors suspect another rare disease (ILD) also caused by his genetic mutation. This can only be confirmed by lung biopsy, which will take place later this month. The prognosis of this disease is too heartbreaking to put into words. We will likely need to take him to the states to consult the top doctors in this field or for experimental treatments, as there is currently no known cure. We are beginning to research the possibilities and when we have a clear course of action we will update here and increase the target amount appropriately.

In the mean time we are overwhelmed with your generosity and thank you so much for continuing to donate and wanting to fight for our little Jude.
