Hello,
My name is Lina Soboh, I am a Palestinian who is currently seeking asylum in Canada and left my family in Gaza August 2023 to escape the previously unlivable situation in Gaza.
I am reaching out to you to help me evacuate my husband Wael Soboh and our kids from Gaza. We have 7 kids: Ismail, an ambitious Civil Engineering student. Linda, a very compassionate Physical Therapy student. Ibrahim and Haya, my beloved twins who are currently in high school. Kifah, a soccer enthusiast and player in middle school. Tala, my sensitive little princess who has just started middle school, and finally Mira, my rising poet who keeps sending me messages full of feelings and love.
They survived a terrible attack on October 17th in Khan Younis that killed 30 members of our family and 5 friends in front of their eyes. My husband and our kids have been displaced 5 times since then. Our home was destroyed along with our belongings and our memories.
They are currently staying in a tent in Rafah, the last area that was considered “safe” in Gaza. However, with the current attacks increasing there, I am scared for my family’s safety. I am terrified to be one of the war mothers who see their families die before their eyes. I can’t stop thinking about the possibility of receiving the news of their death through social media. When I fled to Canada with the hope of eventually settling here with my family, I thought that leaving my kids behind would be the most difficult thing to do. However, this situation unfolded a new level of pain for me and my family, thinking that we might never see each other again.
As a mother, I am urgently seeking your help to enable me to evacuate them out of Gaza as soon as possible. This is a life-or-death matter.
The funds collected will help pay the following expense:
• CAD 60,000 - passage fees to enter Egypt for my husband and our 7 kids.
This is the bare minimum they need for the moment being.
Your support in this campaign will help directly save lives in Gaza. Any amount is appreciated. Please share this campaign with as many people as you can.
Sincerely,
Lina
