My husband, Jeff Heckman, is facing a formidable health challenge, and we believe that together, we can make a significant difference in his life.

Eighteen years ago, Jeff underwent a life-altering kidney transplant that granted him a renewed sense of life. Unfortunately, kidney failure has resurfaced, compelling Jeff to undergo dialysis sessions lasting four hours each, three times a week. This grueling treatment has left him physically drained, making it difficult for him to fulfill his crucial role at the Lincolnville Fire Department.

As if this weren't challenging enough, Jeff is also contending with excruciating hip pain due to cartilage deterioration. While a hip replacement surgery is recommended by his doctor, addressing the kidney situation is a prerequisite.

Currently, Jeff is on a national waiting list for a kidney transplant, but the extended wait has yielded no positive matches. In addition to the emotional toll, Jeff and his family are grappling with mounting medical bills and household expenses. Moreover, Jeff has a nine-year-old son who looks up to him for guidance and support in becoming an exceptional man, much like his father is to the local community and as a member to the Faith Church in Ridgeville, SC.

Despite the ongoing assistance from his Doctors, there are still significant challenges in ensuring that the broader South Carolina community is aware of Jeff's situation. Our mission is to reach out to you not only as friends but as caring individuals who can contribute to Jeff's well-being.
