Hi, I’m Aubree-Olympia and I’m 7 years old!
This year I’m doing the Great North Run and I’m really excited — but I’m not just running for fun, I’m running to help people! I’m raising money for a meningitis charity, because meningitis has been a big part of my family’s story.
When I was younger, I didn’t really understand what had happened to my Dad. But now I’m a bit older, we’ve talked about it more and I’ve started to understand that my Dad had meningitis when he was little, and it made him very poorly. He had to be super brave and now he has a disability because of it.
It makes me really proud to be running for people who might be going through the same thing.
I want to help raise money for the charity so they can support families, do research, and help people feel less scared when someone they love gets meningitis.
I’ve been practicing for the run and I can’t wait to wear my race number and run with a big smile on my face (even if my legs get tired!)
If you can give a little donation, that would be amazing! And even if you just cheer me on, that makes me happy too!
Thank you for reading my story!
Love, Aubree-Olympia x
