Burial Fund for Nora
Like most of you, my thoughts and prayers have been with the Henderson's. I can't imagine what they are going through but I do know that they are loved and cared for by so many. In times of tragedy, everyone wants to do something to help so this page has been set up to help with the burial & medical expenses.
When trying to write something for this page, I was completely blank; so many emotions, and questions. This morning I saw Trace's beautiful Facebook post: between the tears, I realized just how perfect his words were. To have something so tragic happen and to be able to focus on the positive shows the strength, love, and grace that lives in Ashley and Trace. I have attached it just in case anyone hasn't seen it.
From Trace-
"I wanted to let you know about what has been going on in our lives this week. Last Thursday Ashley's water broke and we rushed her to Baptist L&D. She was immediately put on bed rest to try to prolong delivering as long as possible. She was able to hold on for another 6 days, even after the doctors expected her to only be able to make it 1-2. Wednesday morning Ashley started showing signs of an infection and the doctors decided to do an emergency C-section. Baby Jack survived the procedure, but unfortunately Baby Nora passed away shortly after birth. The doctors explained to us that both Ashley and Nora had developed a horrible infection that spreads rapidly. This has been a very rough week for all of us although we have worked very hard to get through it together. We have cried and wondered why many times this week, but we have come to realize that Nora had a very important purpose. Some of you know our story but for those who don't, I will share. When we first got pregnant we were told that we were only having one baby, after our second ultrasound they discovered that we were actually having twins. We believe that this is when Nora joined her baby brother and knew that he was going to need her help getting into the world, to fight off the infection. She stayed with him until the moment they were brought into the world and then realized her job was complete. She was absolutely beautiful, just like her mother, and had a heart like her too. Always trying to do something for someone else instead of herself. We will always remember her and she will always have a piece of our hearts.
Baby Jack is now in the NICU, where he will be for a few weeks, and is already progressing faster than the doctors expected. They removed his ventilator yesterday because he is breathing so well on this own. He will continue to get the antibiotics he needs to fight off the infections. We know that his progress is because he has his sister watching over him as his guardian angel.
Ashley is doing wonderful and they were able to clean her body of the infections. She will be going home today or Monday. Ashley and I appreciate your prayers and support and look forward to sharing more information about our new family soon."
Thank you for keeping the Henderson's in your thoughts and prayers! Feel free to share this page.
Much Love,
