Cancer is ranked among the cause of most American deaths according to the country's health statistics. Additionally, it has been proven that the black race is highly affected by the disease. The black race has the shortest survival rate of cancer both in men and women. Health care services in the country, especially among the Black race, have been a problem, and most people have been forced to seek alternatives. Most black people are not insured, which is nothing different from the black families in my community. Due to high medical cover bills, most people fail to get regular check-ups, thus discover cancer at very late stages. Following the concern about the rate at which cancer is affecting people, especially the black race in our community, we, as the young black youths in the community, came together to raise awareness on cancer. We have started a documentary community project named Fuck Cancer which aims at educating people on what cancer is and how it affects our community. Fuck Cancer is a documentary expected to run throughout the seasons with plans of growing bigger and fighting to get the care that our black communities deserve. This project also aims to collect data on cancer patients in the community and provide facts on how to listen to your body. Cancer care is very expensive, and therefore, having a documentary-like Fuck Cancer can benefit most people. Losing a friend or family member to cancer is tough and starting a project like this is a step that can help save lives. This project is an appraisal towards fighting cancer among the black race in our community and supporting it will greatly benefit everyone. Let us all join hands and financially support this project for the benefit of growing it and helping all those affected with cancer. A positive acceptance of this project is the beginning of the road to victory against cancer.
