Support Lucky's Road to Recovery

I found this little dude in the middle of a busy highway in Texas!!! I quickly jumped out of my car and said, “Come here,” frantically, and he came to me. He was covered in hundreds of ticks and fleas and was so thirsty. I was nervous the whole time, but I could not leave him there!! I brought him to the nearest vet and quickly got flea and tick medication into his system. We picked off so many ticks in the meantime and cleaned his wounds. While we did that, one of the girls there and I called over 15 places to see if we could get him rescued. All of them were full, some didn’t even answer, others had an option to “press 2” which just hung up, and the worst was the state number that said, “Put him back on the highway where you found him. The only way a police officer will pick him up is if he gets hit by a car, and even then all we do is hold him in a kennel to see if he survives. No medical attention. And if he looks like he won’t make it, we euthanize him.” I had no other options but to help this baby!!!

Ever since I found him, I have been doing everything I possibly can to get him well. He’s only 1 year old and he is such a sweet boy.

Later that day, he got so much food and water, 2 flea baths, and slept in a crate outside of the house where this poor baby cried all night. But for safety reasons, I couldn’t have him inside while the fleas and ticks were falling off. The following day, I brought him to get fixed by a place that had 50 dogs to neuter that day and said they probably wouldn't be able to get to him. Luckily, the girls there stayed late just to make sure this guy got antibiotics, all of his shots, and neutered! @spaynueternetwork I seriously couldn’t have done all of this without their help and trust.

Right now, the expenses have really added up and I’m just trying to figure out a way to pay for everything. Any extra money I raise will be donated to Spay and Neuter Network!!
