On Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, Trevor Hagen was med flighted to Emplify Health in LaCrosse, WI due to an abscessed tooth infection and low lab values, where he underwent emergency surgery and had three teeth pulled. He remains in the intensive care unit since. The infection was and still is severe, and after scans, they determined it had spread up into his temple, cheek area, and also in his brain. He turned septic, and his kidneys were in really bad shape but have since recovered. He developed pneumonia, which he is still battling today. He has undergone multiple surgeries to clear infection in his face, have a PICC line placed, and now a tracheostomy. He has multiple blood clots and is on heparin in attempt to dissolve them. He has an NG tube and has also had multiple blood and platelet transfusions.
On Friday, December 5th, he had a craniotomy, which involved removing the temporal lobe of his brain to reach the infection. They decided to leave the bone off and will 3D print him one down the road. The surgeon was hopeful that even with removing a portion of his brain, he would still remain the same Trevor we all know, and he was right! He has been passing all of his recent neuro exams, and he's still Trevor! We couldn't have asked for a better outcome from that surgery.
Trevor's road to recovery will be long, and there's a lot of questions and answers we still don't know. We do know that Trevor, his wife Traci, and the Hagen family need our support and love during this difficult time. I have watched his wife Traci and family travel this rollercoaster of a road and stand by his side every step of the way, through tears, scary moments, and sometimes a laugh just to get them through and let me just say.. Trevor is one lucky man to have them.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to lift a burden of money off their shoulders as they try to navigate a new normal of balancing work and being there for Trevor. It can help cover Trevor and Traci’s monthly bills, gas money for his wife and family frequently traveling back and forth to the hospital, a hotel room if the weather is bad, Trevor's medical bills, or whatever they may need.
Trevor is the definition of resilient and has been surprising everyone around him, including the doctors, with overcoming each and every bump thrown in his path. We love you, Trevor! Keep up the hard work.
If you're not comfortable donating via GoFundMe, please reach out to Kelsey Lorenz (friend), and she can help you make a direct donation to the family.
