If you’ve known Mike Hudzina for 10 years, 10 months, or 10 minutes...you are a very lucky person and already love him. Even now, in the midst of all his fear, as he processes the devastating news of a stage 4 esophageal cancer diagnosis on January 25th 2021, with a life expectancy of a matter of weeks to less than a year--and simultaneously grieving the loss of his mother who passed away on March 25th 2021--his main concern is his wife.

Mike started short term disability in mid-April, per the oncologist's recommendation. As the primary breadwinner, Mike prides himself on being able to support his family.

Friends and family have been asking, “What do you need, what can we do?” Other than love and prayers there is very little anyone can do when someone has cancer so I think the one thing that could alleviate worry for Mike, and give him peace of mind, is knowing that his wife is not left with a financial burden when he passes. Your financial contribution would also give Mike and Julie the immeasurable gift of time. It would allow Julie to reduce her hours at work and spend quality time with Mike now that they likely won't get in future years.

This money will allow Mike to focus 110% on recovery and be able to be completely present during all of the moments he has left to share with his friends and family with a worry free mind.
