Jake Immink had double lung transplant in 2021 from Covid. The last year & half, he has dealt with chronic rejection. On Sept 3rd, under the guidance of his transplant team Jake traveled to Alaska to visit some friends. While there, Jake became ill with low oxygen, requiring hospitalization for 8 days. Jake’s sister, Esther Bond, flew out to Alaska after Jake’s discharge to fly back home with him. On September 25, they began flying back to Nebraska. While on a layover in Seattle, Jake’s oxygen saturations dropped critically low. He was sent to University of Washington Medicine admitted for further testing and treatment. Jake is on high amounts of oxygen supply. Jake’s parents (Jon & Peggy Immink) flew out to Seattle for support.
We are working on getting Jake back to Nebraska with his UNMC transplant team via Medevac because commercial flights are not an option in his condition.
