Marquis Jackson Scholarship Fund

I had the pleasure of meeting Marquis Jackson today at a Scholarship Banquet honoring Seniors from the Stuttgart High School Class of 2018. Marquis has done and accomplished great things throughout his high school tenure and throughtout his life. He was recently awarded the John Philip Souza Award for Band, and was the first recipient of the newly created Legacy Award for Leadership, Musicianship, Dedication and Excellence for helping to establish the Drumline for Stuttgart High School. He received the Fine Arts Award and Music Medal for Academic Excellence, and has maintained a 3.6 GPA or better in his 4 years of High School, all while serving countless hours of Volunteer Service to the Stuttgart Community and surrounding areas. In his speech today Marquis talked about his goals and ambitions to become a music teacher and open his own music school. I recognized the passion and love this young man truly has for music and it is reflected in his accomplishments. He truly inspires our youth and his peers. Along with his other scholarship contributions he has received, I will be donating $1000 towards his continuing education at Troy University in the fall. I emplore all, producers, artists, musicians, and anyone with an affinity for music to contribute towards this young man's education. I also issue a challenge to my Northwestern High School Class of '89 and Alumni to match or contribute at least 10% of my total contribution. Let's see if we can raise $5000 for Mr. Marquis Jackson.
