Bo's Battle

Our story is about our loved one "Bo" Jimmy W. Coon Jr. He is a son, brother, uncle, grandpa and Daddy to Brandon, Colton and Cali. Bo's Battle began with a trip to the ER on August 21, 2016 for a severe headache that had lasted three days.  The medical team determined he had a brain bleed that required surgery.  During the surgery, the Surgeon discovered a tumor called Oligodendroglioma. Treatment would consist of 6 weeks radiation and 1 year of chemo, that ended October 2017. It was later discovered during a routine MRI that Bo would require a second surgery.  On March 8, 2018, he had his second surgery with chemo to follow in April. At the end of April, we started noticing significant changes with Bo and suspected he may have had a stroke. On May 7 during a routine visit, the onocoligist placed chemo on hold and ordered an MRI stat.  Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain the MRI, as Bo's condition would not allow him to remain completely still. We were to attempt another MRI on May 15 but ended up in the ER  during the early hours on the 14th. Bo required hospitalization due to Edema. The hospital then attempted three more times to obtain an MRI. Twelve days later and after a HUGE battle with the hospital Bo received an MRI with anesthetic. On May 26,  we received the devestating news that the cancer has progressed and treatment is no longer an option. Bo is now at home, so he can be near his family. I would like you to know that not one time in 21 months has Bo EVER complained. He has been courageous and so VERY gracious. Every person on his medical team has fell in love with him! His determination to fight and positive attitude has amazed us all!  It is not easy for us to ask for assistance, as Bo is not the type  to ask for help. Instead, he has always been the one trying to help  friends and family in any way he can. Unfortunately, we are now asking friends and family to help him, as his journey nears the end.
