Como Friends Bench for Shalini

In honor of Shalini Dhuria van Hoek (May 11, 1974 - Jan 2, 2018), we are raising funds to participate in the Como Friends Bench Program. The Como Conservatory, and in particular, the Sunken Garden, was one of Shalini’s favorite places to visit when she was in Minnesota. She especially loved going there during the winter when it was too cold to find things to do outside. She also loved this place because admission was donation-based, allowing children and adults with limited means to have opportunities to enjoy the beauty of this place. Our participation in the program will help the Como Zoo and Conservatory keep admission free to the community and keep the plants and animals growing and thriving.

Shalini was a daughter, a niece, a sister, a cousin, a wife, an aunt, and a friend to so many people. She will always be loved and remembered for her huge smile and her thoughtful and generous heart. By donating, you will contribute to creating a place where we can all visit and remember her, anytime of the year, day or night.
