[UPDATED *Our house was NOT sold!!] My name is Javier Silva. For the past 4 years, my wife Mary and I have been struggling to stay in our home where we have raised and are still raising our 8 children (two have moved out).  We have always somehow managed to make things work. We've avoided foreclosures, modified our loan and even declared bankruptcy at one point. However, recently, I sold my business and started a new business venture.  It didn't work out as planned and when our funds ran low, I found it necessary to get a job (after being self-employed for 15 years). Slowly we started getting some steady income (even though I'm away from the house more now).

Then the mortgage company decided to accelerate the loan and proceed with foreclosure. We needed $75,000 to bring the loan current. Obviously we don't have that. I just got numb. I thought "Why bother? ...let the chips fall where they may. "  I guess it was some form of depression that came over me. I was just overwhelmed. I was tired of struggling... just so tired of it. Mary continued to encourage me any way she could. She did research on ways to keep our home or at least stall the process so we could bet back on our feet. She couldn't make any calls because her name is not on the note, just mine... and I was dragging my feet (why bother). There are several real estate investors who want to buy our house since it is in a real good neighborhood.  I was thinking about doing this, but Mary doesn't want to sell. It's OUR house. We also have some attorneys who say that bankruptcy will allow us to keep our house and avoid foreclosure... been there, done that, don't want to go back.

So our house is scheduled to go on foreclosure auction on Tuesday June 5, 2018... yes this Tuesday coming up. Two days ago, I made one last ditch call. I told my situation. He asked for some documents. I sent them. The next day, we got a ray of hope... Not only are they able to stop the foreclosure in less than 24 hours before the sale, they can also communicate with our bank to negotiate a loan restructure - that's the main thing we want, but didn't know how to do. Obviously, there are some newer government programs that we were unaware of. This is great news!

However, since we are dealing with legal proceedings and other professional services, this is obviously NOT free. Overall, it's going to cost $6,000. Fortunately, they do not require all of it at once since there are phases to the process. Here's a breakdown:

$2,500 Due by 10am Monday, June 4, 2018 [*We made this (see Update 2). ] This will expedite the legal paperwork to stop the foreclosure sale and begin the process of consultation and do a compliance call with lender for audit of our mortgage and any mortgage investors. They will also  send lender authorization to negotiate a loan restructure.

$2,900 Due by July 4, 2018: Detailed financial analysis to determine eligibility for appropriate loan restructure programs in order to file complaints for lender not offering such programs. Send qualified written request to lender. Research investor of mortgage. Prepare correspondence. Execution of Content Strategy.

$600 Due in 60-90 days: Verify offers made by lender. Send necessary documents to us for review. Coach us on upcoming changes to loan.

It is extremely humbling bordering on embarrassing for me to get on here and ask for money. But a friend suggested it... And I owe it to my wife and kids to swallow my pride and simply ask. Mary and I deeply and sincerely appreciate any amount you are able to give. Thank you!
