My name is Hasmik Harutyunyan and I am starting this gofundme campaign for my dear friend and personal fitness trainer, Marine Karapetyan, who's life has been devastated on June 15, 2020 after being involved in a car accident in Armenia which has caused her to endure multiple traumas, hip and leg fractures, and knee injuries.
Mrine Karapetyan is a respected personal fitness trainer and bodybuilding trainer in Armenia. Marine's love for sports and fitness came from her childhood years. She began practicing taekwondo at an early age and with her dedication and commitment achieved a ranking of second degree black belt. This passion was transformed into a career in her early adulthood when she began fitness training and progressed rapidly with many successful bodybuilding trainees throughout Armenia and Europe. In 2017, Marine became a judge for the World Natural Bodybuilding Federation WNBF.
Marine Karapetyan is a single mom of two children. Her daughter Astghik, 10, and son Vahe, 14, along with her ill mother rely on her sole income to make a living in their home town of Hrazdan, Armenia. Her daily routine included commuting to the capital of Armenia, Yerevan, located about 32 miles away from home six days a week to work as a personal trainer at three different gyms. After weeks of overwhelmed 12+ hour workdays, on the evening of June 15, 2020, Marine was involved in a devastating car accident resulting from extreme fatigue. Marine's car traveled off the highway and struck a tree leaving her unconscious at the scene. She was rushed to the hospital where she spent three weeks in the ICU and underwent five surgeries including eye, hip, knee, and thigh surgeries. This unfortunate event has caused her to deplete her entire life savings leaving her with no financial support for her family.
Although Marine is now recovering from home, she is in dire need of an expensive surgery involving hip endoprosthesis as this will be her only avenue and hope to be able to walk again and be able to return to her beloved career. The cost of this surgery has been estimated at $5,000. We hope that this campaign will allow Marine to get back on her feet and support her loving family.
