This Go Fund Me account has been created by the friends of Benito Quiroz. Bennie as he is known affectionately by all was recently diagnosed with cancer and has begun an aggressive treatment plan. He is not the kind of person to ask for help, yet we know he will need it while he undergoes treatment in order to continue medical insurance, purchase life-saving medications, and support his family while he is in treatment.

Bennie is one of the hardworking hero’s of the hospitality industry.  He was hired by the Monterey Plaza Hotel in 1997 as a House Porter.  That position saw him working on the floors, trundling linens to and from the rooms and assisting the Room Attendants with their duties. He has been a Maintenance Engineer for the Plaza’s Engineering department since 1999.  In addition to keeping the property in “like new” condition,  Bennie has assisted hundreds of co-workers and thousands of guests over the course of his employment.  His warm and personalized service when called to guestrooms frequently receives comments from guests such as this, “Benito was sent to our room to enable the inputs on the TV and he was very helpful.  Wish I could get this kind of service everywhere!” 

His unfailingly polite focus on the guest experience and commitment to treat the “house” as if it were his own represents the very best of Monterey County hospitality. All support from the community he has served unwaveringly for the past 23 years is very much appreciated.
