Support My LMU Thesis Film: You Were Not Invited

Hi, my name is Savion Davenport and I’m a senior Film and Television Production major at Loyola Marymount University. I am raising funds to support my senior thesis short film, You Were Not Invited. Not only is this film a necessity for me to complete my Bachelor’s degree, but it embodies my passion for filmmaking.

You Were Not Invited is about a young woman, Janelle, overwhelmed by a job she doesn’t enjoy. She is unable and unwilling to accept the love and support of her loved ones. Her stress compounds, leading her to have a mental breakdown, during which she comes to a realization that changes how she views her life forever.

I hope you all feel seen as you watch this movie, which will discuss the trials and tribulations that come with establishing a work/life balance. This story is about love, stress, and representation, coming from a Black filmmaker with a majority Black cast.

In addition to the production, these funds will compensate my fellow students who were members of my cast and crew, and establish a budget for film festival submissions.
