Full story :

For three weeks Eric would cough up blood and was extremely tired and weak. On May 10 th when I was at work Eric called me to let me know that he was feeling like he was about to pass out and was coughing up a lot of blood. He was not able to drive I was then dropped off to were he was and I took him into the Emergency room that night we found out he had cancer. First they found a mass that was 13 cm long, second they found many masses in his lungs. We were then told that he would be getting a biopsy to find out what type of cancer it was. A few days later after some blood work was done they told us his HCG level was high, something that is usually only found in woman who are pregnant or men who have testicular cancer. On may 15th he was then taken to get another X-ray and CT that’s when they found the mass in his testicle. The doctors then told us that we would need to be transferred to a hospital that specialized in cancer due to them not having the equipment to do a biopsy or start chemo. Since the cancer was spreading so rapidly. After not getting accepted at multiple hospitals due to not having insurance On may 16 th he got accepted to UCSF Mission Bay campus we were then transferred at 3 am on the 17th. On the 18 th of May Eric had surgery to remove the left testicle that had the mass in it. Surgery went well and then we got transferred to UCSF Parnassus so that they could get the chemo started. After a few days of them waiting for the results, and taking a couple of more X-rays and CT scans they then found that it was also in his liver. The doctors came into the room and told us they could not wait any longer for the results due to the cancer spreading so rapidly. On May 21st at 10:40 pm Eric then started his first cycle of chemo, it lasted 5 days. Everyday he started feeling weaker. Now that chemo is over he still continues to cough up blood, feels nauseated, short of breath, weak and can not do much on his own. We were expecting to go home on May 27th , as of now we do not know when he will be released. His next cycle of chemo will be June 11th. This has been very hard on us as we also have a baby on the way and Eric has 2 other boys. He continues to try to be as strong as he could for his family .      He can no longer work and he has had to put his business on hold . As of now we do not know how much of his medical bills and medicines will be covered by his insurance. When he is able to go home I will need to make sure he has a walker, commode, and shower chair. In order to help lift the burden of the medical bills that will be coming to our family we have decided to start this gofundme page to help raise money that way Eric can focus on his health and his family can focus on giving him the support he needs to help get him through this difficult time.    Eric wishes to share this experience with his family and friends. He hopes that his experience can help bring awareness to other young men. He never thought something like this would happen to him. He wants to express how important it is for young men to do monthly self checks. If you ever feel something that is not right, immediately head to your doctor.  Do not be afraid, it takes a lot of courage and strength to over come something like this. I want to thank you for taking the time to read this and showing your support. Please show him some love in the comments section. Once again we would like to thank you for any contributions. Please keep him in your prayers, and from the bottom of our hearts, We thank you very much !
