Dear Family, Friends & Caring Supporters,
I am a single mother of two currently in an emergency situation that I desperately desperately need financial help with. I have been sued by my ex & court ordered to pay his attorney fees following a custody case for my son in the amount of $5,000. I have done everything including filing a Motion for Reconsideration to try to get the judgement turned around but it was denied. There is nothing else legally I could do to change this unjust judgement. I even reached out and asked my ex’s attorney for a payment plan but he declined and replied that if he didn’t receive the $5,000 as ordered he would file for Contempt of Court and ask for my incarceration, which is what happened. Being that I did not have the money to pay my ex’s attorney I have been held in contempt of court & ordered to pay the full amount in 90 days or face incarceration. Unfortunately, at the original hearing for this matter I did not have a attorney to represent me and upon asking the Judge for a continuance to do so he would not allow it, therefore I lost the case & my ex won his attorney’s fees from me. Being that I am a single mother and sole provider for my family, paying this debt seems impossible!
As those who know me personally know, I have been in and out of court for the past 3 years in a custody battle for my son. His father parentally kidnapped him from me for 2 months in 2015 and I had to file for emergency return of child. I am financially limited at this point. I have even looked into filing for bankruptcy as a solution but that would cost $3,500 to do so.
My worst fears are if I am incarcerated I will not only loose my job and livelihood to support my children but that would open the door for my ex to take me back to court and deem me as unfit in an attempt to keep me from my son which is exactly what I feel he would want to happen.
If anyone could help me in anyway I would greatly appreciate it! I thank you for your time & considerations during these circumstances.
I have until July 9th to pay or I will be incarcerated until I can purge myself and held in Contempt of Court again. I am asking for help with donations from any and everyone.
I now owe, with the addition of the attorney fees from the contempt of court hearing, a total of $4,250. I am in desperate need of help to raise the money in this short amount of time to keep me from being incarcerated and causing me to loose my job and possibly custody of my kids!!!! ALL PRAYERS & DONATIONS NEEDED & APPRECIATED!!!
