Hello I am Letisha Mealer my husband is Chris Mealer we have five children still at home back in December he was diagnosed with tongue cancer went to many different doctors had many different tests done and then on February 22nd he had surgery 16 hour long surgery they went in and removed his tongue that is where the tumor was they also took the lymph nodes and glands out of his neck all of them none of them tested positive for cancer when they done the biopsy of them they reconstructed him my tongue how the muscle and tissue out of his left leg we had a two-week healing time. Then he started radiation 35 treatments 5 days a week he has been done radiation now for a little right at 3 weeks this past Tuesday we have discovered that he had a really bad infection and an abscessed on his neck we went to the cancer facility and Covington Louisiana they did a CAT scan and took blood we ended up going to the LSU Clinic the following morning on Wednesday we saw the doctor in the clinic in Baton Rouge Louisiana they did a straight emit from the clinic too the hospital and took him back for an emergency surgery he has several different pus pockets and his neck and around where they reconstructed his tongue we had to go in and remove scar tissue remove all the pus pockets and some of the abscess they left to drain during this time they did another CAT scan and did a lot of blood test his white blood count came back very high which is an indicator that the cancer was still there the CAT scan showed that he had lesions on his lungs and that the cancer was back this time it's just not in his tongue in his throat his neck and a good possibility in his lungs they're going to do another CAT scan when the infection in his neck is gone to determine if the lesions on his lungs was caused by the infection we have been informed that this is a very aggressive cancer and it's back for revengeance when the infection is gone he will start chemotherapy we was told they would be no more surgery this last surgery took a lot out of him yesterday he had two units of blood administered to him his blood count show that he was very anemic in the blood level was very low since they gave him blood yesterday he has gained some color back in his face and is doing its job from what the doctor said he was the Sole Provider for our family and he will not be able to work no time soon medical bills and other bills are piling up on us I'm at my Wit's End I don't know what to do he's still in the hospital and will be here for some time if anybody has compassion and kindness and love in your heart that will like to help us it would be greatly appreciated and thank you from the bottom of our hearts the chemotherapy is to slow the cancer down to give him more time he has a very slight chance from what they tell us that he would go into remission but a slight chance is better than no chance because in the good Lord and the power of prayer Anything is Possible I'm also asking for prayers for him and our family and just some help he is my rock my backbone I don't know what I would do without him all these years he toted me and the kids financially and I have tried but working is kind of hard and taking care of him and five kids we are trying to get Social Security started and filed for him so again anybody with compassion and love in their hearts that want to help us will be greatly thanked
