I recently married the man of my dreams and while we are thankful every day and realize how blessed we are to have each other, our happy time was somewhat overshadowed by some bad news that came a couple of months before the wedding.
My soon-to-be-husband's father had been diagnosed with bladder cancer. He started chemo treatments immediately and despite several complications with his treatment, he was able to come and stand by his son as his best man.
After the wedding, we found out how much he really needed our help. His medical bills kept piling in, insurance wasn't covering what they originally said they would, and he hasn't been able to work since being diagnosed. He is a retired Vietnam Veteran: he was in the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles who had 279 successful jumps in Vietnam War during 2 tours of duty. He earned a purple heart and a bronze star, and received an honorable discharge-but we have yet to find an organization that is able to help without interfering with his social security benefits.
Please help us get Charles back on track!
