Hi! My name is Jenna Rose and this cutie here is Shine! Shine is about a two month old German Shepherd mix puppy who is wild, but such a good girl. I was going to look at an apartment and saw this beautiful puppy circling a man's truck in the complex parking lot. Not a soul was around except the man in his truck. I go over to help move the puppy for him and immediately could tell she needed help. She was really dirty. Her mouth was hinged open and caked with dirt and twigs. She had a swollen snout and infected puncture wound on the top and bottom of her snout. She was struggling to breathe. I knew I had to at least bring her to a rescue. All I had to feed her at the time was a fresh shrimp spring roll, she ate the entire thing in seconds. At first sight doctor said she has a broken jaw, may or may not need surgery, xray will tell. I agree to the treatment and services for $421. When I return to pick her up two hours later the doctor said her jaw is broken and NEEDS surgery. she also has alot of chicken bones in her stomach. They sent me home with a plethera of meds to give her, antibiotic, dewormer, laxative, vitamin supplements and pain killers. She is tough and wasn't crying when I found her but her jaw is in pain consistently. I took her home and she had her very first bath, meal and cage! At first she was timid, but she loosened up quick! I can tell she's comfortable now, she knows I love her! Not once has she given me an issue when I'm giving her medicine she just puts her head right back. The bath freaked her out a little, but she stuck it out! But now she is playing and eating and drinking water like a boss! We are both so lucky to have found each other. She still needs help cleaning her mouth after she eats because of her jaw. And that's why I'm here. Shine suffered a bad bite from another dog on her snout, leaving the top and bottom puncture wounds and cracking her bottom jaw in half so she cannot close her mouth. The bottom and top don't even come close to touching. So she can't really chew (a little with her back teeth) and is eating all soft food. If we don't get her surgery on her jaw, she will never be able to fully chew anything, steak, toys, or stick up for herself. She will always have a disability. And she will always have to eat soft food. Can you imagine being a few thousand dollars away from saving yourself a lifetimes worth of a disability?! Taking care of a puppy already is questionable for me, but taking care of a somewhat disabled pup is truly too much for me. If we can't get surgery I am not sure what will happen. Beacuse of her age and disability a shelter would put her down (I'm NOT LETTING THAT HAPPEN) This puppy has been in my life 48 hours and she is already helping me so much, to feel, to love, to have more purpose! We need each other, the stars aligned and the universe brought us into each other's lives. YOU will be part of the reason this puppy gets to smile BIG everyday! NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL! FIVE BUCKS, TEN BUCKS, TWENTY, FIFTY! WHATEVER! Thank you in advance for your kindness, compassion and support! Check out my Facebook for pictures of her!
