Audrey’s Taco Army

About 2 weeks ago, our family was rocked by some horrible news. My daughter, Faith’s, best friend, Audrey Carpino, received a devastating diagnosis. Please read below:On May 9th, 2018, the Carpino family received the worst news imaginable. Their sweet daughter, Audrey, was diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas). DIPG is rare and aggressive brain tumor. It is located in the brainstem and due to the location and nature of the tumor, it is inoperable. At the moment, there is no known cure for this type of cancer. Audrey's Mom and Dad, Liz Casey and James Carpino, as well as their entire family, are beyond devastated and heartbroken.While Audrey's prognosis is not good, Liz and James have not given up hope! On Friday May 18th, Audrey began radiation treatment and come fall, she will treated at Sloane Kettering as part of a trial. Audrey is 8 years old and in the 2nd grade. She is a sweet, kind, and loving girl. She dotes on her baby sister, Rosie, who is 15 months. She is a fantastic big sister! She is incredibly smart and her favorite subject is math. She is strong and brave, and if anyone can beat this, it is her.Due to Audrey's diagnosis, Liz and James have stepped away from work to not only care for her but to spend as much time as possible. We are looking to help with household bills, hotel stays and most important to help Audrey fulfill her bucket list! Audrey would love to travel and spend time with her family and loved ones.
