For over 26 years, Vinnie and Kimberlee shared their love story. Best friends, Kimberlee cherished the support Vinnie gave her every day and often referred to him as "My rock". Then, on May 6, 2014, the tables turned and he needed her more than she had ever needed him.
On that day, Vinnie was rushed to the hospital, only to receive the worst kind of news: terminal brain cancer, or Giloblastoma Multiforme. Determined to live, Vinnie underwent surgery, went through chemotherapy, and aggressive radiation therapy. For almost two years, Vinnie, with Kimberlee by his side, beat the odds. But things took too dramatic a turn in early 2016, and, after a long journey, Vinnie chose to ease the remainder of his life, gently, with the peace and helping of hospice and with Kimberlee, ever by his side.
With Vinnie out of work for over two years, the cost of countless medical procedures and treatment plans have taken their toll on the Muni household, more so than Kimberlee would even admit to Vinnie who did not want to leave her with any additional burden.
So many of her caring loved-ones, family and friends have asked how they can help. To that end, we have established this GoFundMe account to provide support and a "virtual" hug for Kimberlee during her time of need. The emotional and financial toll of being a caregiver has left Kimberlee drained in a number of ways. Please consider giving a gift so instead of worrying, she can focus on finding peace and strength.
And, tonight, take a moment to hug the person who is your rock and best friend and let them know how much they mean to you.
