My dear friend, Laura, a passionate Spanish teacher at Pacific Palisades Charter School, has been deeply affected by the recent wildfires in Los Angeles. While visiting her parents in Chicago with her beloved dog, Hachi, she received devastating news: the wildfires destroyed the house she was renting and her car.

My name is Rachel Stalcup, and I attended college and studied abroad in Madrid with Laura. I live in Maryland and work as a fundraiser. Laura and I are always texting each other to hear what's going on in our respective lives. You can imagine how terrible it was to hear that she's facing such loss. I wanted to use my fundraising background to help Laura rebuild.
