The short story:
We (Dadweed the band ) are fundraising money for our sweet little drummer boi Boris (aka Karlan Morrison) who has been diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia. The funds raised here will help cover Karlan's expenses over the next 6 months as he will need to undergo various phases of treatment and recovery over this time frame. Any extra funds raised will be donated to BC Cancer Foundation.
The rest of the story:
After experiencing ongoing shoulder pain that would not dissipate Karlan checked into the hospital where they discovered he had a rare form of leukaemia called MPAL (mixed phenotype acute leukaemia.) This type of leukaemia will need 3 types of intensive chemotherapy followed by a remission period with ongoing chemotherapy (possibly other treatments) with an eventual stem cell transplant and recovery period. This process will take months for Karlan to recover from, which is where we step in and would like to fundraise enough money for him to pay the bills (rent, average living expenses & food for him and the pups) and get by while undertaking this long and uphill battle.
All funds raised will go directly to Karlan and any extra funds raised beyond his immediate needs will be donated by Karlan to the BC Cancer foundation. Please feel free to share with anyone who might know Karlan or want to help, every bit counts!
