Recently, Mike's entire world was turned upside down with a diagnosis of Stage 2 liver cancer. He is only 38 years old, turning 39 on May 26th (today!) and is the loving father of two amazing kids, Charlee and Jacob. Mike is a kind and generous friend, and we thought we could help take some of the financial burdens off of him while he gets through this difficult time. We are reaching out to everyone we know and seeking the generosity of strangers to help him with this fight. Let's put a smile on his face as he's done for so many of us during our lives.
Diagnosis
Mike's diagnosis began after a routine colonoscopy where they found a 6.5 cm tumor, and after an MRI and biopsy, discovered that it metastasized resulting in three tumors embedded in his liver.
Treatment
His initial treatment is a daily 6-week round of chemotherapy and radiation at which time another MRI will be done to check progress. The cost of his treatment alone is $1150 a week. Depending on how he responds there could be more therapy required, with more costs to incur.
Due to his current condition, Mike has also now found himself suddenly unable to work and provide for himself and family. The daily cost of living, and taking care of two children can be stressful enough, but with the sudden onset of this burden can be crippling to deal with alone.
Any contribution helps, seriously. Even $2 from a friend sends the message that he is not alone. If you are unable to donate please help by sharing this with others.
Thank you so much for supporting Mike and his family through this. We can't choose what life throws at us but we can choose to be kind and generous.
