Hi, my name is Luis Martinez, and I’m humbly reaching out during one of the hardest times of my life.

After the unexpected passing of my beloved husband Eddie, my world turned upside down. Grief took a deep toll on me — emotionally, mentally, and physically. The depression that followed made it nearly impossible to get out of bed, let alone keep up with everyday responsibilities. I’ve been trying to hold things together with very little support, but the truth is, I’ve fallen behind.

Right now, I’m at risk of losing my home. I live in a mobile home and have fallen behind on lot rent. I’m currently three months past due, and another payment is due soon. Altogether, I need to raise $5,000 to avoid eviction and give myself a fighting chance to recover, stabilize, and breathe again.

To make matters even more difficult, I have a precious cat named Paco, who has been my constant companion through this time. If I lose my home, Paco will be at risk of being homeless as well, and I can’t bear the thought of that.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been the person who helps others — whether it was offering a place to stay, a meal, or just a listening ear for people going through similar struggles. I’ve opened my home and my heart to others in need, and now, I find myself in the position of needing help. It’s hard to ask, but I can’t do this alone.

This home is all I have left of the life I built with Eddie — and losing it would be losing another piece of him.

The prayers, especially, have given me hope on the darkest days. You’ve been a light in my life during a time when I’ve felt lost.
