Papa Onai
Onai, or Papa Onai as many of you know him, is the heart and soul of PSP and brings so much joy to anyone that has the pleasure of meeting him. He is the smile that welcomes you into the gym, he is the caring dad that protects and leads his pack, he is the cuddle buddy when you are needing love, and he is always there to pick you up and be by your side. He is loved by everyone he comes in contact with and means something special and unique to everyone.
Onai has always been there for us when we need him most, now he needs us! He needs our love and prayers as he is fighting for his life.
Sunday May 13, Onai was not himself. He couldn’t use his back legs and was very lethargic and wouldn’t respond to his name. We took him into the ER and was soon admitted into the neurological unit. On 5/15 they confirmed he had a brain fungus called Cryptococcus, which causes swelling to the frontal part of his brain which affects all of his cognitive thinking as well as his central nervous system. He began steroids to reduce the inflammation and began the anti-fungal medication. The process of killing fungal cells within the brain is very slow process as every time a fungal cell dies it inflames the brain. Due to this he has to be monitored very closely and stay in the neurological critical care unit they are able to ensure his brain is no longer inflamed and the fungus has been killed.
Loving Onai the way we do and being apart of the Pivotal Sports Performance Family we are humbly asking for your support, donations, love, and prayers!
