5K in a Day

The Alpha Nu chapter of Alpha Chi Omega is a sorority on Mizzou's campus dedicated to raising awareness and money to support our philanthropy, Domestic Violence Awareness. Our chapter raises money for our local beneficiary, True North of Columbia. See more information about True North below. We are hosting our 2nd annual 5K in a day event where we try to raise $5,000 in 24 hours. Your donation will support True North in several ways, ranging from providing food for individuals at the shelter to helping survivors of domestic violence receive counsel that will help them navigate the legal system. More information about True North of Columbia, Inc.: True North is Boone County's only intimate partner violence and sexual assault victim services program. The agency provides a safe, emergency shelter offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to victims of intimate partner violence who are fleeing abusive situations, and also provides a variety of advocacy services, individual counseling, and support groups for victims regardless of whether they are residing in the shelter or not.
