PLEASE HELP ME!! I HAVE NO MONEY TO PAY MY BILLS.

Hi, my name is Bill Alley. I have fallen on hard times and am in serious need of help. A couple of months ago the rent on my studio apartment went up by 10%. Because of the rent increase I have used all of my savings and my 401K to pay bills. After I pay my rent, I don’t have much left for food and bills. I struggle more and more every month. I am afraid of being homeless.

I am single and live alone. All of my family has passed away. My life is my work and my adopted family. I work at San Jose State University in California. I love my work at SJSU in the Department of Art & Art History. I receive good annual reviews, but there are no salary increases. This is a huge problem at SJSU!

Until March 2023, I was working a second job at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in San Mateo. I was the song leader for the weekend masses. I was officially let go in March 2023. Not getting paid $500 every month has hurt me. There is no way to make that amount up. This monthly paycheck helped me survive every month. I was at St. Matthew's from 2004 to 2023.

About Me

I work in the Art Department at San Jose State University. The work I do is helping undergraduate students with choosing classes and any forms they need to be completed. I LOVE MY JOB!!! In addition, I go to church and have a prayer life. Nothing much more to say about my boring life.
